Wind River announces BSD/OS Internet Server Edition 4.3.1

By Jeremy C. Reed

On Saturday, Wind River announced BSD/OS Internet Server Edition (ISE) 4.3.1. It replaces the BSD/OS ISE 4.3 release which began shipping last January. This release includes the M430 mods (BSD/OS binary updates).

The new hardware support includes:

  • Compaq Smart Array 5300 RAID controller
  • Dell PERC3 RAID controller
  • ServerWorks CMD649 IDE controller
  • ServerWorks CSB5 IDE controller
  • Broadcom 5700, 5701, 5702, 5703 Gigabit Ethernet controllers
  • Intel PRO/1000 Gigabit Ethernet controller (64 bit)

The Wind River announcement says that this new release does not contain support for the 4Front Technologies OSS sound drivers. But an upgrade from 4.3 to 4.3.1 does not remove this support.

BSD/OS ISE 4.3.1 includes security updates for libc (integer overflow in XDR library and buffer overflows in DNS resolver), named (multiple vulnerabilities in BIND), popper, uparams, uuname, and uucp.

It also has updated Apache 1.3.26, OpenSSL, and OpenSSH 3.1p1.
